Exchange semester at OSM and application deadline

  • Spring: January-June, students 4th semester.
  • Application deadline: 1st September.
  • Only students whose home university holds a current bi-lateral exchange agreement with Oslo School of Management are eligible to apply.
  • For OSM-students further information is published on OSM’s Norwegian language website and/or It’s learning (OSM’s electronic learning platform)

Undergraduate course taught in English

  • Undergraduate course taught in English, spring 2013, full time semester load: Scandinavian Leadership, 30 ECTS (for details, see course description)

Academic requirements

  • All applicants must be registered as an undergraduate student at their home institution.
  • All applicants must meet the minimum requirement for Higher Education Entrance Qualification in Norway (generell studiekompetanse) and having fulfilled 3 semesters, equal to 90 ECTS of an undergraduate Bachelor-degree-program, upon arrival.
  • OSM 4th semester courses only require basic knowledge in the following; Introduction to Marketing, Introduction to Management and Organisational Behaviour.

Language requirements
Proficiency in English will be critical to your success. Oslo School of Management requires one of the following proficiency exams from international students coming from a school where the language of instruction is not English:

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) – a minimum score of 550 on the paper-based exam or a minimum score of 80 on the internet-based TOEFL (IBT) - or -
  • International English Testing System (IELTS) – a minimum score of 6 on the academic module.

Documentation – incoming students
Formal application to Oslo School of Management (eventually via home institution)

Applicants must document their education with officially certified copies and authorized translations to English if the original documents are not in English or a Scandinavian language.
Oslo School of Management uses your statement to learn more about you as an individual.

Tuition, Fees and Student Residence Permit
Tuition: NOK 28.000,00  pr. semester and additional student-union fees. Erasmus students are exempted from paying tuition fees at the host institution. Tuition and fees are subject to change.

All students who plan to stay in Norway for more than three months will need a student residence permit. Visas are only issued for stays up to 90 days (e.g. for certain Summer School programmes) www.studyinnorway.no

Financial Aid and Scholarships
Oslo School of Management does not have scholarships or financial aid available to entering undergraduate students. International applicants are encouraged to explore scholarship opportunities from private resources.

Student welfare and housing
As a student, you are a member of SiO as soon as you have paid the semester fee. The semester fee entitles you to make use of more than 7,500 student lodgings and apartments, Norway's largest student bookshop, four fitness centres, cafes and café-bars, cabins, health services specially for students, free student counselling, free career guidance and inexpensive kindergarten.
